This is a vibrant, colourful slot with a whimsical storyline. Even the mechanics of the bonus round carry the same playfulness found in the game.
The sounds perfectly complement the feel of the game. My only problem comes with the galloping horse synonymous with Pragmatic Play slots when you go for a spin. This might be part of their brand but, in this slot, it just doesn’t work and is jarring when compared to the enchanting mood of the slot.
As you would expect, the higher-paying symbols take the shape of 4 different pixies. The lower-paying symbols are intricately designed card suits.

Hit the Scatter tile in reels 1, 3 and 5 and you will enter the bonus round with 8 free spins. There are 3 sets of 2 circles on top of the reels (a total of 6 circles). Every time a Wild butterfly makes an appearance it is captured in one of these circles.
Every time 2 circles are filled you are awarded 2 extra spins and from then on the 2 butterflies will settle somewhere on the reels. This can continue going until all 6 circles are filled which means 6 wilds will fly around the reels awarding some pretty nice wins.
This is a random feature and it may happen whenever the Gem Scatter symbol is either just above or just below the symbols on reel 5. When this happens the symbols will move up or down revealing the Gem Scatter and triggering the bonus round.

Pragmatic Play is known for its high volatility slots but ‘Wild Pixies’ comes in a little gentler with medium volatility. The game has an easy pace and coupled with the visuals will make for a more relaxing experience. The visuals are pretty, but they didn’t really blow me away.
The bonus round is a fun one, especially when you get the Wild butterflies floating around. Whenever I entered the bonus round I had a good run and managed to win in the 60x region, However, there was this one occasion when I left with just 5x. In this round, I didn’t get any Wilds appearing so I didn’t manage any extra spins or flying wilds within the game. That had a considerable effect on the bonus game win.
There are 10 symbols in play (not including the Wild and the Scatter symbols) so I did find myself having a few good wins on the base game too. This is because the Wilds do tend to make a good appearance and I even managed some five-of-a-kind wins winning around 10x to 15x every time.
This is a great game for someone who wants to try Pragmatic Play’s slots but is not interested in the high volatility. Whilst the theme might feel a little flat, the mechanics of the bonus game well makes up for this.
