No need to fly over to Mexico to get a taste of it – just have a spin of Wild Luchador and you’ll be sipping digital tequila in no time. This 5-reel, 3-row slot with 243 ways to win really brings the Lucha Libre vibes to the table.

The symbols, the slot design but most of all the soundtrack will transport you to a world of the colourful freestyle wrestling this slot takes inspiration from. Hotter than some Salsa Roja and just as wild as the sport itself, this game comes with some spicy features.

Symbols are all incredibly colourful, perfectly mirroring the Lucha Libre sport. High-paying symbols take the form of the most iconic Mexican tokens. Low-paying symbols are represented by colourful card suits.

The symbols, from highest to the lowest consist of:

  • The scatter tile is the Death Clock and can appear on any of the 5 reels. With 3 or more scatters the free spins round is triggered awarding 7 free spins and a multiplier.
  • The Wild tile is the golden champion belt. It substitutes for all symbols bar the scatter. There is also a Luchador Wild which always appears stacked. It pays 33.33x for 5 adjacent tiles.
  • The skull yields 16.67x for every 5 adjacent tiles.
  • The tequila yields 15x for every 5 adjacent tiles.
  • The candles yield 13.33x for every 5 adjacent tiles.
  • The chilli yields 11.67x for every 5 adjacent tiles.
  • The cactus yields 10x for every 5 adjacent tiles.
  • The guitar yields 8.33x for every 5 adjacent tiles.
  • The Ace and King yield 5x for every 5 adjacent tiles.
  • The Queen and Jack yield 4x for every 5 adjacent tiles.
  • The 10 and 9 yield 3x for every 5 adjacent tiles.

When a big win is registered, get ready for trumpets and a blast of confetti all over the reels. Si Señor!

  • Flying Luchadors

At any point during the game, up to 5 Luchador Wilds can be blasted onto the reels. These always come stacked and can appear in both the base game or the bonus round.

  • Dead Slam Free Spins

The bonus round is triggered when 3 or more Death Clock Scatters appear on the reels awarding 7 free spins and awarding a multiplier. What you’re looking for here is getting 5 scatters appearing on the reel to get the x5 multiplier. Four scatters award a x3 multiplier and 3 scatters award a x2 one.

During the free spins, there is a much higher chance that the Luchador Wilds will strike. Up to 5 can grace the reels with every spin.

This slot is as spicy as breakfast Chilaquiles with the hottest of salsas especially with its max win of 40,557x (which is Quickspin’s highest max win to date).

The bigger wins will come from the bonus round. Land those 5 scatters and you are in for a chance to get some mega wins, especially if more than 3 Wild Luchadors make an appearance. The potential certainly is there.

But do keep in mind the volatility here is set to high. During my gameplay, I did suffer a few losses in between bonus rounds. Most of my significant wins only hovered around the 10x in the base game. Most of these happened when the Wild Luchador made an appearance. Also, getting into the bonus round doesn’t mean an automatic big win and most times my wins here only went up to 40x as I never triggered anything above the x2 multiplier.

Having said that, this is such an entertaining game that I can see myself returning to. It’s wild, it has an awesome soundtrack and of course, there’s the potential of that max win.
