Software provider Red Tiger pulled all the stops to bring you a Halloween-themed slot game with a difference. We are introduced to a rather skinny biker with a pumpkin head cruising along the streets on what we can presume is Halloween.

From the moment you enter the game, you are greeted with smooth graphics that are easy on the eye. The folks at Red Tiger produced yet another stunningly embellished slot game with all the bells and whistles.

From the mummified cat to the bat cupcake and witch’s hat, this game has been given attention to detail from start to finish. Set across five reels and 20 paylines, this game has a few surprises up its sleeve.

Is this a regular Halloween-themed slot? Well, yes and no. There is one reason that I wouldn’t classify it as your typical Halloween-themed slot, and that is the background story. We see our main protagonist Pumpkin biker driving along the path to reveal riches and unlock reels as he goes along.

Like most Red Tiger slot game, you’ll stumble upon various features and bonuses as you play along. Occasionally, the biker himself removes his head (ooh spooky!) and tosses a few wins along your way.

As soon as you hit that ‘Spin’ button, a little jingly-jangly tune starts playing in the background. Hit a win, and it becomes a bit livelier, guaranteed to put a smile on your face. The song changes every time you spin the reels. There is nothing spooky about the tune itself. I would classify it as naughty without being too tedious or boring.

When the reels aren’t in motion, you can enjoy the silence as you admire the scenery around you. The game appears to be set on a patio under a moonlit sky with a winding tree standing to your right. Pumpkins are dangling from it.

You are not alone during this game. There are some bats with menacing red eyes watching your every move. I found the bats a little unnerving at first, but eventually, they faded into the background as the upbeat music kept their presence at bay.

With multipliers and wilds in store, there is also up to 800x your bet.

Symbols and Features

Like most slot games, you can find a mix of regular card symbols along with higher-paying ones. The pumpkin is the highest-paying symbol paying out a massive 400x your bet for five of a kind. It also acts as a Wild icon to help you create more potential wins.

The motorbike is another high-paying symbol, paying 320x your bet for five of a kind. The witch’s hat pays out 160x your bet for five of a kind, while the black cat awards you 140x your bet for five of a kind. The potion bottle pays out 120x your bet and the cupcake awards you with 100x your bet for five of a kind.

The lowest paying symbols are the card values. The Ace pays out 80x; the King pays 60x, the Queen pays 40x, the Jack pays 30x, and the number 10 symbol pays 20x your bet for five of a kind. Although the game is amusing, it’s the features and bonus games that really push it to the forefront:

  • Mega Wild: The biker delivers a massive 3 x 3 wild symbol onto the reels to help create more winning combos
  • Random Wilds feature: Our main protagonist drives onto the screen, removes his pumpkin head and throws it onto the reels to reveal a random selection of up to six added wilds.
  • Special Reels feature: The biker rides across the reels and removes all low-paying playing card icons. A respin follows with higher value symbols in play.
  • Pumpkin Tree: The magical tree on the right-hand side of the reels can up your payouts with a multiplier of up to 20x.

Three of more free spins symbols anywhere on the reels activates the Free Spins features When this occurs, you are invited to pick one out of three bowls of marbles to reveal the number of spins won.

During this round the Pumpkin Tree features a lot more regularly, offering you the chance to boost your winnings with up to 20x multiplier and a 3×3 mega wild. Additionally, you can also be awarded more free spins at random.

I successfully managed to trigger an extra 18 spins in addition to the 16 free spins already awarded—a 10x multiplier and a few wilds peppered the reels as I played along. I won in total a generous $165.40 during the free spins round itself.

There is also the Full Moon Bonus feature. Land three of this bonus symbol and you’ll be invited to pick a beer glass to fill up with a cash prize. The highest prize you can land yourself here is a whopping 800x your stake.

Our Verdict

Lucky Halloween has all the elements of a Spooktacular slot game. If you are searching for a Halloween-themed slot game, you have two primary options – You can either opt for classic monsters such as is the case with Blood Suckers or else, you can go for modern Horror classics, which is the case with this Halloween game.

Although Red Tiger doesn’t give you the chills with this production, it surely offers an epic game thanks to the sharp graphics and the mega cool Harley Davidson-riding Pumpkin Biker.

This is a highly-volatile game so you can’t expect that many winnings as frequently as one would hope for. During my time playing this game, the free spins rounds proved to be my saving grace as I landed wins and triggered additional free spins three times during the round itself. In the end, I had so many free spins that it boosted my winnings considerably.

If you have a smaller bankroll, you might want to tread a little more carefully, but overall, this game proved to be as fun as it looks.
