Immortal Romance Mega Moolah is the latest rendition of this popular slot that was originally released a decade ago. Set in an alternate Earth where vampires exist, the game sets out to give players an intriguing experience with free spins, scatters and wilds.
This slot was released in 2021 and comes from Microgaming, just as in the previous versions of the game. The main difference between this iteration and the older one is the inclusion of the Mega Moolah functionality. I’ll talk about that more in a bit. The game is still built around a 5-reel, 3-row playing field with 243 paylines.
If you think of a romantic vampire story most people will likely think of Twilight. However, going by the art and the fact there are 4 main characters, it’s probably based on the television show The Vampire Diaries. Even the best friend being a witch is included in the slot. The game looks exactly the same as the updated original slot, so there isn’t much to criticize when it comes to its appearance.
The game looks suitably dark and gloomy for being set in a vampire world, with the characters drawn in an excellent style. Even the standard card letters are made to look gothic, which helps set the tone. The background gives us a look at some glass-in-lead windows to cement the setting. I would have liked to have seen some more animations, however.
Immortal Romance Mega Moolah makes good use of the different symbols to help set the mood. The high-paying symbols are mostly the 4 different characters but there are some other symbols as well created specifically for the game. There is the mysterious gothic castle as well as the stack of books and scrolls. As I mentioned earlier, the low-paying symbols are just card letters but even these are made to fit the theme by changing their appearance.
When it comes to the gameplay, players can pick a bet between $0.30 and $18, with the grouping of bets a little odd. The lowest bet is $0.30 and the next one is $2.10, which means there are only about 6 different amounts to pick from. This is something to keep in mind as the game has High Volatility, spreading out wins over a larger number of spins.
The biggest and most obvious change from the original slot is the inclusion of the Mega Moolah jackpot. This is a progressive jackpot that is shared amongst many games, adding to the total prize pool every time someone spins one of those slots. As a result, the jackpot will forever keep growing and is worth more than $ 23 million at the moment this review is being written. Obviously, this is an insane number but it will also be extremely hard for anyone to win it.

A lot of the game hinges around the free spins mode, as unlocking it more than once will slowly start to add additional features. I found it to be quite hard to activate. Once, the game errored and I lost all progress. This isn’t expected to happen often, however.

Immortal Romance Mega Moolah is a slot that is excellent for players that either enjoy the vampire setting, the original Immortal Romance game, or who want to play a slot with a progressive jackpot.
The gameplay is simple to get into, and extra features are slowly added over time in the free spins mode. Players should expect to have to play for quite a while if they want to unlock all the free spins features. It is not the case where triggering the free spins 4 times will unlock all 4 phases. You will need to do this a dozen or more times to unlock the freedom to choose your free spins mode.
All in all, it felt to me like a nice upgraded version of the game. If you liked the original, the Mega Moolah jackpot is a cherry on top. If the only thing you’re looking for is the jackpot, maybe keep looking for a slot that’s a bit more forgiving.
