Burning Wins attempts to update the classic slot experience to modern times. Are you willing to see what this game offers and collect those burning wins? With a sizzling 96.21% RTP this game might surprise you!

Made by Playson, Burning Wins brings the slot experience back to its most basic 3 reels, 5 fixed paylines and the chance to win big. The first thing that jumped out at me is the size of the symbols which makes sense since there aren’t 5 reels that need to fill the screen. Instead, the 3 reels have the opportunity to stretch out and give you a good look.

Being able to select a bet between $0.10 and $100 per spin means I could get a gaming experience I was more comfortable with. Unlike a lot of other slots, there is no way to increase or decrease the number of active paylines. You’re always playing with the chance of winning it big: a maximum jackpot of 200x your bet if you get a screen filled with 777 symbols!

Graphics

I already briefly touched on the look of the slot so far but I’ll take a closer look at it now. The symbols featured are classic fruit slot symbols, bells, the 777 and BAR. Each one has been updated and given a modern makeover. All of them stay sharp no matter the size of the screen I played on. The fruit symbols especially looked good enough to eat even showing off individual droplets of water as if they were freshly washed.

In terms of animations, there isn’t much to comment on, except any big win is going to fill your screen with fire as the burning wins the game is named after are not just for show! The winning paylines burst into flames and I could almost smell the smoke, that’s how good it looked.

Sounds

Unfortunately, Burning Wins has little to go on when it comes to sounds. There is no music playing during the base game and the only sound effects were the clicking of the reels spinning and a short jingle when I hit a win.

Hitting more than 1 payline at a time would give me something a little more of a stinger but it still only lasted about a second before the game resumed. Not bad if a player prefers a quick tempo and not wasting any time but it also made the slot feel rather dry.

The only time I heard any music was when I got a ‘big win’, which was when all three reels filled with the same symbol. It stopped to play a portion of Gioachino Rossini’s William Tell Overture- A very surprising but welcome choice!

All in all, I was disappointed since they did such a good job of updating the graphics. I would have expected a similar treatment for the sound. Adding more of the William Tell Overture might have been a good fit.

Burning Wins Highlights

  • Max. win: The maximum win of Burning Wins is 60 x your bet.
  • Max. lines: The 5 paylines result in more possible winning combinations.
  • Mobile version: This slot runs smoothly on any mobile device.
  • Automatic play: Auto-play function spins the reels without needing to push play for every spin.
  • Quick play: You can select quick play to make the reels spin faster.

Symbols and Features

As Burning Wins is basically an updated version of the standard fruit slot, nothing I’ll list here should come as a surprise to veteran players. The game uses the most famous symbols to fill its three reels.

From highest to lowest they are:

  • Jackpot: 200x multiplier of your bet, when all reels are filled with 777 symbols.
  • 777: 60x multiplier of your bet
  • Bells: 40x multiplier of your bet
  • BAR: 20x multiplier of your bet
  • Watermelons: 15x multiplier of your bet
  • Grapes: 15x multiplier of your bet
  • Plums: 7x multiplier of your bet
  • Lemons: 7x multiplier of your bet
  • Oranges: 7x multiplier of your bet
  • Berries: 7x multiplier of your bet

Although those multipliers are quite high, Burning Wilds has medium volatility which means it’s not as frequent to get a win as I would like. Since it has a 3 reel and a 5 payline playing field there are enough chances to get something out of it though.

There are no special features to speak of in this slot. It does have some of the more basic features that most players nowadays consider mandatory.

  • Autoplay: This popular function lets the slot play itself. Be aware that unlike most modern slots you can’t choose any settings for this function. It can only be set to spin indefinitely and you can’t have it stop automatically when you get a big win or when your funds reach a particular level above or below your current one. It’s important to keep an eye on it so you don’t get a nasty surprise!
  • Quickspin: The other feature is also the only thing you can switch on or off in the Settings menu. It does exactly what it says on the tin: spinning at a normal pace or quickly.

Conclusion

Burning Wins is a slot by Playson who must have felt that the oldest type of fruit slot needed an update to the modern age. They left out all the frills that most modern online slots have nowadays and instead focused on old-school fun.

If you are someone desperately looking for a slot that lets you go back to the basics without having to look at blocky images or missing some simple newer features, then Burning Wins might be the perfect solution.

Are you someone who enjoys all the different special features that modern slots have implemented? Then you will probably get bored of Burning Wins pretty quickly.

In the end, I can’t fault it for going back to basics and it comes down to personal preferences whether or not players will like it. Give it a shot if you’re curious and see if it leaves you burning for more or if it just fizzles out!
